Ruaha National Park

Ruaha National Park, situated in the heart of Tanzania, is the largest national park in the country, covering about 20,226 square kilometers. It offers a unique blend of East African and Southern African wildlife due to its transitional location between different ecological zones. This vast and relatively untouched wilderness is renowned for its rugged landscape, which ranges from semi-arid savannah to lush river valleys. Ruaha is home to one of the highest concentrations of elephants in Tanzania, and it is also a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the endangered African wild dogs. Notably, it hosts a rich assortment of antelope species, such as the greater kudu, sable, and roan antelopes, which are less commonly seen in northern parks. This distinct combination of fauna and flora, coupled with its expansive, unspoiled vistas, makes Ruaha National Park a remarkable and less crowded safari destination.
